How we organized this
We do not publish fake reviews or aggregate ratings on this page. Pricing and review counts change -- verify the linked public pages before buying. Sourced from a direct fetch of each Shopify App Store listing on the date shown per row, except where marked otherwise.
Best by job
| Job | Best starting point | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Expiry-aware reorder decisions (perishables, cosmetics, supplements) | Foreshelf | Among the apps checked here, this is the one where the reorder recommendation itself is computed jointly with batch expiry data, not just tracked separately. Verify the current listing and test it with your catalog before relying on it. |
| Deep demand forecasting + PO automation, proven track record | Fabrikatör or Prediko | Both have hundreds of real reviews and mature forecasting engines. Fabrikatör: 4.8/5, 105 reviews. Prediko: 4.9/5, 233 reviews, plus its "PIA" AI agent. |
| Cheapest, simplest Stocky replacement | Stockie or EasyScan | Stockie: 4.9/5, 127 reviews, plans from $4.99/mo. EasyScan additionally covers barcode receiving. |
| Pure expiry/batch/lot tracking (not reorder decisions) | Freshly | 4.9/5, 41 reviews. FDA Smarter Food Safety Traceability Challenge winner. Does not forecast demand or recommend reorder quantities -- tracking and alerting only. |
| Barcode scanning and warehouse receiving | EasyScan | Execution workflow (scan, count, receive) matters more than forecast depth for this job. |
| Small-batch manufacturing, raw materials, lot traceability for compliance | Craftybase or Stocksmith | Built for makers tracking materials through to finished goods, not retail reorder math. |
| Large catalog, enterprise-grade planning, willing to pay for depth | Inventory Planner (by Sage) | The deepest feature set for multi-warehouse/channel planning -- but the lowest rating here (4.4/5, 129 reviews) and multiple reports of steep price increases post-Sage-acquisition. Worth trying before committing to annual billing. |
| Cheap, no-frills reorder suggestions | Logistified or Assisty | Logistified: 5.0/5 but only 31 reviews, flat pricing from $12/mo, notable MCP/LLM-chat integration. Assisty: 4.8/5, 342 reviews (largest confirmed review base of any dedicated forecasting app checked), AI forecasting gated to its $199/mo tier. |
The apps, one at a time
Foreshelf
Expiry-aware reorder decisionsBuilt around Marcus, an AI-narrated (not AI-calculated) agent: a deterministic engine computes reorder recommendations jointly from demand forecast and batch expiry data, and will refuse or reduce a suggested reorder if the math says most of it would spoil before selling through.
Prediko
Demand planning + AI agentCovers demand forecasting, replenishment, purchase orders, raw materials and reporting, plus an AI agent ("PIA"). No expiry/batch feature found in its public listing or marketing pages.
4.9/5, 233 reviews. Plans from $49/mo, scaling with revenue tier. Source: Shopify App Store listing, fetched Aug 26, 2026.
Fabrikatör
Backorders + planningForecasting, purchase orders, bundle planning, backorders/pre-orders, QuickBooks/Xero integration. No expiry/batch feature found.
4.8/5, 105 reviews. Plans $99-199/mo by revenue tier. Source: Shopify App Store listing, fetched Aug 26, 2026.
Stockie
Cheap Stocky replacementForecast from sales history, create POs, low-stock alerts, supplier lead-time config. Positioned as a simple, low-cost Stocky replacement. No expiry feature found.
4.9/5, 127 reviews. Plans from $4.99/mo. Note: a separate, similarly-named listing exists on the App Store with a different review count -- confirm you're looking at the right one before installing.
Freshly (Batch Inventory)
Pure expiry/batch trackingFEFO/FIFO batch tracking, expiry alerts, customer-facing expiry display, recall management. Winner of FDA's Smarter Food Safety Traceability Challenge and a Shopify App Challenge -- real third-party credibility. Does not forecast demand or compute reorder recommendations -- it's a tracking and compliance tool, not a decision engine.
4.9/5, 41 reviews. Free plan available, paid from $24/mo.
Cogsy
12-month planningInventory visibility, 12-month demand planning, replenishment, what-if scenarios. Integrates with Shopify, Amazon, 3PLs. Notably not branded as "AI" in its own listing, unlike most peers.
4.9/5, but only 12 reviews -- a high rating on a small sample. Flat $199/mo, no lower tier.
Inventory Planner (by Sage)
Enterprise-grade depthThe most established, deepest feature set for multi-warehouse/channel demand planning. No expiry feature found. Multiple Trustpilot reviews report pricing "increased threefold" after Sage's acquisition; a recent review documents a sync failure with slow support response.
4.4/5, 129 reviews -- the lowest rating of any app on this page. Quote-based pricing, third-party estimates range $120-245+/mo before add-ons.
Assisty
Largest review baseReorder suggestions, reorder points, days-of-cover, safety stock, bundle handling. No expiry feature -- explicitly not an expiry/batch app. AI forecasting is gated to its top tier.
4.8/5, 342 reviews -- the largest confirmed review base of any dedicated forecasting app we checked. Free plan, paid $19-199/mo.
Logistified
Cheap + LLM chatSeason-aware forecasting, MOQ/pack-size-aware PO logic. Notable: MCP integration letting merchants query inventory data via ChatGPT/Claude -- an unusual differentiator few competitors offer. No expiry feature (its "lot size" terminology refers to order-quantity sizing, not expiry tracking -- don't confuse the two).
5.0/5, but only 31 reviews. Flat pricing from $12/mo, cheapest structured tier in this list.
EasyScan
Barcode + receivingBarcode scanning/generation, bin tracking, stocktakes, PO creation. Positioned partly as a Stocky replacement. Forecasting/PO features exist at higher tiers but the core strength is physical warehouse execution, not forecast depth.
Reported ~5.0/5, ~311-317 reviews (not independently confirmed via direct fetch -- verify before citing). Plans from $9.99/mo.
A note on naming confusion
A separate Shopify app also named "Foreshelf" exists, published by a different developer (NeoLink). It is a different product with different pricing and a different feature set (read-only, no AI agent). If you're looking for this app specifically, check the developer name on the listing before installing -- it should say "KhandjiFlow."
Run your own audit
Before installing another dashboard, estimate how much cash is currently stuck in dead stock, upcoming stockouts and expiry risk.
